Brighton: Tackling Modern Slavery

  • British Airways i360 Attenborough & Birch Rooms, Lower Kings Road Brighton, BN1 2LN (map)

The Bishop of Lewes invites you to make a difference

Modern Slavery is one of the blights of our time. However, many people think it is a problem that happens largely elsewhere. But we know it occurs, even in Sussex. From traffickers preying on winter night shelters, to the people washing our cars receiving no wages and working 12 hour days, modern slavery is all around us. Local communities, if they are informed and aware, can make a real difference working with statutory authorities in stamping it out.

With that in mind, we invite you to join us to learn more about modern slavery, and how we can tackle it together and make a difference.

During the event, the Police will give us an inside look into where slavery is prevalent in the Diocese of Chichester, Helena Croft will speak about the work of Streetlight UK and The Clewer Initiative will help us understand how our churches and communities could respond.

The event is designed to inform, inspire, challenge and give the tools to be effective and helpful in the fight against modern slavery. We are suggesting £12.00 per ticket which goes towards costs for the day, tea, coffee and a light lunch included.

Complimentary flight on the iconic i360, courtesy of British Airways.

We look forward to welcoming you to this significant day.
