Modern Slavery and Restorative Time: regaining identity, renewal and hope.

The Diocese of Portsmouth is hosting an event focused on supporting survivors of modern slavery linking to the Cathedral’s annual theme of TIME.

‘A local and global event focusing on supporting survivors towards a place of restoration and hope’.

Recognising the importance of partnership work, this one-day conference brings together organisations from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Modern Slavery Partnership with others who enable victims of modern slavery to start the process of recovery and rehabilitation. Partners will offer insight through local and national stories, describe the kind of support that is currently provided, where there are gaps and further opportunities for strengthening support. Faith communities have an integral part to play within this agenda.

This event is open to anyone interested in gaining greater awareness of modern slavery, and in particular the aspect of survivor support.

It is key for those working in partner organisations, for those wanting to enhance their knowledge about what support is available, and to strengthen the relationships between organisations who are already delivering these services.
